colophon

How this site is made, and why it looks like a terminal.

This site is plain HTML and CSS, built from Markdown files with Astro. There’s no database, no tracking, and no framework running in your browser. A small script adds keyboard shortcuts and theme switching, and everything works without it.

Type

Set in JetBrains Mono, the same typeface I use in my terminal, self-hosted with only the Latin characters. The column is about 68 characters wide, a comfortable line length for reading.

Color

The themes are palettes from my own desktop themes for Omarchy: night-diner, cyrk, glitch-watts, and whale-watching, plus paper for daylight. Every text color meets WCAG AA contrast. Press t to cycle through them.

Print

Print any page, or save it as a PDF, and you’ll get a version made for paper: black ink, no navigation, links written out, page numbers, and a note at the end saying where it came from. Recipes print their ingredients in two columns so they fit on one page.
